Terms and Conditions

At Prickly Hedge Hedgehogs we are African Pygmy Hedgehog Enthusiasts and only breed to improve temperament and  health and occasionally have animals for sale to ensure potential owners are aware of the responsibilties of owning an exotic species you must agree to the terms and condition below before you will be added to my waiting list.

My waiting list is sub divided into the following:

PREFERED LIST (For a particular colour/sex)

Non PREFERENCE (No preference for colour/sex)

You must state which list you would like to be placed on during initial contact. Subsequent changes to this will result in a change to your placing.

I. African Pygmy Hedgehogs are not a suitable pet for younger children. (Due to there nocturnal nature and the difficulity in handling)I will not sell my Hoglets to anyone for whom a child will be the final receipient. If being purchased as a family pet an Adult must provide the details required in para III.

II. All Pricklyhedge Hoglets are registered with the UKAPH, If ownership of the hoglet changes you agree to inform UKAPH of the change of ownership. (I am willing to act as intermedatory if you are unsure of how to carry this out)You are also agreeing the new owner will not be a minor.

III. Registration of ownership with UKAPH requires the interested party to provide the following details, On reservation of a Hoglet. Full Name, Full Postal Address, Telephone Number(Landline), Full email address. Failure to provide the correct information will result in your reservation being withdrawn and the Hoglet being returned to the For Sale status.

IV. I reserve the right to refuse a sale at anytime.

V. A 50% deposit is required to secure any hoglet(Non Refundable unless sale is refused as in para IV)  if the deposit is not received within 5 working day of reservation the hoglet will be returned to for sale status.

VI. The Hoglet is to be collected within 7 days of the rehoming date given. (Unless prior arrangements have been agreed)failure to collect your hoglet within the 7days will result in the loss of your deposit and the Hoglet being returned to For Sale status.

VII. The waiting list will be on a first come first served basis, If you are contacted with an available Hoglet and refuse on the basis of sex/colour. You will be removed from the waiting list. (Unless you state you wished to be on the PREFERED list for a particular sex/colour when you first make contact to be put on to the waiting list)

VIII. The outstanding balance is to be paid on collection (for payments by cheque see PARA IX)

IX. Payment by cheque for Cheque payments the Hoglet will only be released on the funds clearing and payment in full must be received 14 days prior to collection.
